First Ultrasound Photos

Below are the first ultrasound photos.  The first one is from about 6.5 weeks and the second one from 8.5 weeks.  So you can't see a lot but the little turtle is there.  They are also really blurry because we scanned them in.  We saw the heartbeat on both ultrasounds and heard it on the second.  It was absolutely amazing seeing that little heart beating and also hearing it.  The first one you can see what may have been a twin. Unfortunately when you have ultrasounds done so early on, you can see what might have been a vanishing twin.  If you look on the left, you can see the second sac with no baby.  We never saw the heart beating for this baby or saw the baby, we could only see the sac.  The sac is still there in the second ultrasound photo, but it's barely visible now.  We don't know if there was ever a baby there or not.  We had our hearts set on twins after the first ultrasound, so it was heartbreaking to see that baby was gone.  The doctor said he felt so much better with just one baby, and was worried about my health and the baby's health with twins.  So that somewhat made me feel a little better knowing I can have a healthier pregnancy with just one baby, but it's still sad thinking that there may have been two babies at one point.

One Healthy Heartbeat

We are so excited that we are expecting a little bundle of joy on February 26th, 2012.  We've been through a lot, but it finally happened.  We feel so blessed and couldn't be happier.  We have had 2 ultrasounds, at 6.5 weeks and 8.5 weeks.  I will be sure to post photos very soon.  We are so excited to have our family and friends follow along on this blog.  We figure this will be the best way to keep everyone in the loop and updated on our baby's progress.  We will be sure to keep it fun and post lots of pictures.  We hope you follow along and enjoy.  We can't wait for our baby's arrival and for everyone to meet our new little addition.
